Today (August 20), the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will close the registration procedure for the National Eligibility and Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2024 counselling. The NEET UG 2024 counselling is for admission to MBBS, BDS, and BSc Nursing programs. Candidates who wish to apply for admission have one last chance to submit their application and present for counselling.
The NEET UG counselling procedure began on August 14. The participating institutes will verify the tentative seat matrix on August 14-15.
To participate in the counselling procedure for seat allocation, NEET UG 2024 qualified and eligible applicants must first register on the MCC website – mcc.nic.in.
NEET UG 2024: What after counselling
The choice of filling and locking procedure options is still available today. Candidates can lock in their selections between 4 p.m. and 11.55 p.m. on August 20. During the option filling time, students must prioritize their selected colleges and courses based on their NEET UG 2024 results.
The MCC will begin processing seat allotments on August 21 and end on August 22. The results will be revealed on August 23, and candidates who have been granted seats must report to their respective universities between August 24 and August 29 to finish the admission process.
Finally, institutes will verify the data for joined applicants on August 30-31, after which the data will be shared with MCC.
NEET UG 2024: When will counselling begin for round 2?
The application process for the 2nd round of counselling is set to begin on September 4. The NEET UG 2024 counselling procedure would consist of three rounds plus a stray vacancy round. The number of vacant seats after two rounds of NEET UG counselling will determine the stray round.
This counselling would include 15% of all India quota (AIQ) seats, as well as seats at central and deemed universities, private institutions, Armed Forces Medical Services (AFMS), Employee State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) establishments, AIIMS, and JIPMER.
