MG Motor introduced its third electric vehicle in India. The Windsor EV is just a rebranded Wuling Cloud EV offered in China. Furthermore, this new model is significant since it marks the first launch since MG Motor India partnered with Jindal Steel Works (JSW).
The Windsor EV will be the first all-electric multi-purpose vehicle, or CUV, as MG refers to it. The new EV is priced between the Comet EV and the ZS EV, beginning at Rs 9.99 lakh. Here are the important features from the MG Windsor EV unveiling.
MG Windsor – Battery As A Service
The company has set the initial pricing at ₹ 9.99 lakh, but owners would have to pay ₹ 3.5 per mile for the battery, as part of a special financing arrangement. With this decision, the brand hopes to make the Windsor’s ownership costs equivalent to those of ordinary ICE SUVs.
MG Windsor – Free Charging & Buyback Plan
In addition, the business is extending a lifetime battery warranty to the first MG Windsor owner. It also includes a one-year free public charging subscription through the eHUB by MG app. JSW MG Motor India is also introducing the Windsor’s 3-60 repurchase option, which guarantees a 60% value retention after three years and 45,000 kilometers.
MG Windsor – Specifications
The Windsor comes equipped with an IP67-certified PMS motor. It draws power from a 38 kWh Li-ion battery pack. There are four driving modes (Eco+, Eco, Normal, and Sport), with peak outputs of 136 hp and 200 Nm. The advertised range is 331 kilometers, and it can be charged in 40 minutes using a DC fast charger.
MG Windsor – Interior
The CUV has a class-leading wheelbase of 2,700 millimetres, resulting in a roomy cabin. The rear bench has a bubbled leather texture for comfort and can be reclined to 135 degrees. In addition, an Infinity View Glass sunroof enhances the cabin experience. The infotainment device uses a 15.6-inch touchscreen display that is positioned on the dashboard and takes center stage.
MG Windsor – Design
The Windsor has an upright face and a high-set bonnet. The headlamp assembly is vertically split, while the taillights have a similar rounded design with a connected light bar. Overall, the design is rounded and modern.
