The annual Class-12 examinations, administered by the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha, commenced across the state on Tuesday. On Tuesday, more than 1.14 lakh science students took the Odia (MIL) exam at 1,276 examination centers. The test lasted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to a CHSE official.
“The CHSE Odisha examination was held peacefully across Odisha without any untoward incident. Only one malpractice case was detected in Mayurbhanj district,” he said.
In the Arts Stream 2,47,391 students have registered, while in Science stream 1,14,980 students have filled the form. Around 25,526 will appear the exam from Commerce Stream while in vocational studies 5,721 students will give the exam. The students will write the examination in 1160 centers all over Odisha.
A five-level squad has been formed to combat malpractices. CCTV cameras have been installed in all centers to monitor the tests. Up to 500 centers will be monitored live by the board. For the first time, a 20-point internal assessment exam is administered for Non-Practical disciplines. The institutions will report the results of this internal review to the CHSE board. The CHSE, like the CBSE, has placed an emphasis on the MCQ objective pattern. There are 110 improved higher secondary schools in Odisha. The CHSE board also stated that the results of the tests would be released within 45 days after their completion.
