A possible cyclonic circulation is likely to form over Gangetic West Bengal and surrounding areas by June 25, with the potential to intensify into a low-pressure system. Although the specific form of the system is unknown, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange warning for the north Odisha areas, signaling heavy rain on June 25 and 26.
Meanwhile, the IMD has issued an orange alert for the North Odisha districts, predicting severe to very heavy rains. According to weather expert Sarat Sahu, the prospective cyclonic circulation will most likely evolve into a low-pressure system, bringing severe rainfall to North Odisha and coastal areas.
According to the IMD forecast for today, thunderstorms with lightning, strong surface wind speeds of 30-40 kmph, and heavy rain are highly likely to occur in one or two locations over the districts of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj.
