The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for many Odisha districts, anticipating thunderstorms with heavy rain and gusting winds in the next days.

Here is a breakdown of the forecast.

Rain, Thunderstorm Likely In Odisha Over Next 3 Days

Day 1 (June 25): Thunderstorms with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph, and heavy rain are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Boudh, Sonepur, Rayagada, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack and Gajapati.

Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam.

Day 2 (June 25-26): Thunderstorms with lightning, with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and heavy to very heavy rain are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore and Keonjhar. These districts have been issued orange warnings.

Thunderstorms with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and heavy rain are very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul and Dhenkanal. These districts are under yellow alert.

Thunderstorms with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.

Day 3 (June 26-June 27): Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and heavy to very heavy rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj. These districts are under orange alerts.

Thunderstorm with lightning with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph and heavy rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Dhenkanal, Angul, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur and Deogarh. The regional weather office has issued yellow alerts to these districts.

Day 5 (June 28-29): Heavy rain is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Koraput and Malkangiri. These districts are under yellow alerts.
