The India Meteorological Department (IMD) anticipated on Saturday that a cyclonic circulation over the North Bay of Bengal and the surrounding Bangladesh coast will develop into a low-pressure region. This system may bring heavy rains to areas of Odisha and adjoining regions in the coming days.
According to IMD data, a low-pressure system has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and the nearby Odisha and West Bengal coasts, causing rainfall in various regions of the state. Another low-pressure system is predicted to develop on Saturday.
Under its influence, heavy rainfall is likely in Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Sundargarh, and Keonjhar on Saturday. Rainfall is also expected in parts of northern and southern Odisha. Heavy rain is likely in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, and Gajapati.
Going by IMD prediction, heavy rainfall is expected in Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Sundargarh on June 29. Very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall is likely in Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, and Jajpur on June 30, with an orange warning issued for these districts. Heavy rainfall is also expected in Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Deogarh, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh.
On July 1, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, and Kalahandi are anticipated to see very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall. Heavy rainfall is also expected in Koraput, Nabarangpur, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Cuttack, Khurda, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nuapada, Rayagada, and Puri, according to the IMD.
