The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that a new low-pressure region will emerge over the north Bay of Bengal around July 24.
According to the IMD, numerous Odisha districts are expected to receive substantial rainfall as a result of the new low-pressure system.
A low-pressure system is expected to build over the Bay of Bengal as an upper air cyclonic circulation develops. This circulation will increase moisture influx into the region, leading to more cloud development and precipitation. As a result, the weather in the surrounding areas is predicted to become more volatile, potentially resulting in severe rains and thunderstorms.
The weather system is forecast to bring heavy rainfall to Odisha beginning July 23, with the greatest rains predicted for July 24 and 25.
Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Balangir, Boudh, Malkangiri, and Phulbani (Kandhamal district) are all predicted to see significant rainfall.
The low-pressure system is located above north Madhya Pradesh, and the monsoon trough extends to the north Bay of Bengal. This trough is likely to provide light to moderate rain to various portions of Odisha on July 19 and 20.
