Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi flagged off a direct flight between Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda on Saturday, marking a significant milestone in the state’s aviation history.
Launched under the state’s B-MAAN plan, the flight service is operated by Star Air and aims to improve economic possibilities and regional air connections.
By cutting down on travel time, the direct flight between Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda will encourage tourism, industrial development, and cross-cultural interaction. From Tuesday through Saturday, Star Air will fly a 76-seater aircraft on the route. The state government’s viability gap funding program, which is part of the New Destination Policy and aims to improve economic prospects and aviation linkages within the state, has provided support for the service.
In addition to bridging distances inside the state, the opening of this route is anticipated to improve regional air connectivity and establish accessible and inclusive aviation infrastructure for all societal segments. The state administration hopes to boost tourism in the area, enhance connectivity, and encourage economic growth with this new flying service.
