Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi introduced 25 new e-buses in Sambalpur on Saturday and stated that another 25 would be added by the end of the month, bringing the city’s total to 50 e-buses. The move is intended to make mobility easier, safer, and more efficient for locals.
The ceremony occurred during the Chief Minister’s two-day visit to Sambalpur. Majhi told the reporters that the modern bus terminal of the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) in Ainthapali was also opened today to streamline bus management. A provision of Rs 238.14 crore has been set aside for terminal and bus maintenance for the next ten years.

The Chief Minister emphasized passenger convenience and safety, stating that the buses are equipped with wheelchairs for disabled passengers. Digital payment options are available, and consumers will earn savings for digital transactions. The electric buses are expected to minimize city pollution.
Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water Minister Rabi Narayan Naik, Sambalpur MLA Jayanarayan Mishra, former MLA Nauri Nayak, and BJP District President Ramachandra Meher all attended the ceremony.
