Stock Market Highlights on Monday, March 16, 2026: The Indian market benchmark indices ended a three-day losing trend with significant advances in the final leg of the trading, with auto and bank stocks providing support.
The Nifty50 finished 1.11 percent higher, or 257.70 points, at 23,408.80, while the Sensex closed 939 points higher, or 1.26 percent, at 75,502.85.
Broader markets underperformed their benchmark indices. The Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap indices closed 0.43 and 0.65 percent lower, respectively.
Among the National Stock Exchange’s sectors indices, the Nifty Auto surged the most. The Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Private Bank also did well. Meanwhile, Nifty Realty underperformed its counterparts.
