On International Labour Day, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi sent warm greetings to the state’s workers, recognizing their critical role in Odisha’s growth and development.
In his message, the Chief Minister said, “On this International Labour Day, I convey my sincere greetings to all the worker brothers and sisters of Odisha. I hold profound respect for your priceless contributions to the state’s development journey.”
He reiterated the state government’s strong commitment to the holistic upliftment, welfare, and rights protection of the labour community.
“The Odisha government remains dedicated to the all-round development, welfare, and safeguarding of the rights of the working class,” Majhi stated.
Calling for collective effort, the Chief Minister urged everyone to join hands: “Let us all come together and work unitedly towards building a prosperous and developed Odisha.”
This message comes as the world commemorates International Workers’ Day on May 1, which focuses on workers’ rights, fair salaries, safe working conditions, and rising priorities including workplace mental health and women’s empowerment.
In recent months, the Odisha government has taken many initiatives to protect workers, including adopting guidelines limiting outdoor labor during peak heat hours (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.) from April to mid-June 2026 to minimize heat-related illnesses as summer temperatures rise.
