Stock Market Highlights on Wednesday, June 3, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex recovered significantly from their lows of the day, with PSU banks and financial companies providing support.
The Nifty50 closed 77.95 points, or 0.33 percent, lower at 23,405.60, while the Sensex slid 303.67 points, or 0.41 percent, to 74,346.17.
The Nifty50 index’s top gainers included Apollo Hospitals Enterprise, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, InterGlobe Aviation, and Max Healthcare Institute.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap ended 0.42 percent and 0.11 percent lower, respectively.
Sector-wise, the Nifty PSU Bank increased the most. The Nifty Bank, Nifty Private Bank, and Nifty Healthcare all outperformed. The Nifty IT sectors index was the worst-performing, losing more than 6% intraday.
