Stock Market Highlights on Monday, June 15, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex rose as risk sentiment improved after the US and Iran announced a peace pact.
The Nifty50 closed 231 points higher, or 0.98 percent, at 23,853.90, while the Sensex closed 0.97 percent higher, or 736.38 points, at 76,264.33.
US President Donald Trump announced that Washington and Tehran had reached an agreement to terminate a four-month conflict in West Asia. According to reports, both the United States and Iran have proclaimed the immediate stop of all military operations.
Trent, Shriram Finance, and HDFC Life Insurance were the top gainers on the Nifty50.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap closed 1.29 percent and 1.11 percent higher, respectively.
The Nifty Realty outperformed the sector, gaining more than 4% intraday. The Nifty Consumer Durables and Nifty Auto both outperformed. Meanwhile, the Nifty Pharma has underperformed.
