Stock Market Highlights on Thursday, July 9, 2026: The Nifty50 and the Sensex recovered as real estate, consumer durables, and PSU bank equities rallied.
The Sensex jumped 238.22 points, or 0.31 percent, to 76,741.82, while the Nifty50 gained 80.75 points, or 0.34 percent, to 23,962.80.
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries, Bajaj Finserv, and Bharti Airtel were the top gainers on the Nifty50 index.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap closed 1.38 percent and 1.8% higher, respectively.
Nifty Realty emerged as the sector’s top gainer. The Nifty Media, Nifty Consumer Durables, and Nifty PSU Bank all outperformed. Meanwhile, the Nifty IT index fell the highest.
