Stock Market Highlights on Friday, July 24, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex extended their losses for the fifth session, marking the worst losing streak since the first week of January, as traders evaluated inflation and economic prospects amid rising oil costs.
The Sensex slid 332 points, or 0.43 percent, to 76,059.77, while the Nifty50 dropped 102.15 points, or 0.43 percent, to 23,767.45.
The top losers in the Nifty50 index were Eternal, Bajaj Finance, and Mahindra & Mahindra.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap fell 0.1% and 0.32 percent, respectively.
The Nifty Auto fell 1%, becoming the poorest performer in the sector. The Nifty Realty and Nifty Pharma also underperformed. The Nifty Media and Nifty IT outperformed.
