Stock Market Highlights on Friday, Aug 7, 2026: The market benchmark indexes Sensex and Nifty 50 fell on Friday, weighed down by financial stocks and surging crude oil prices.
The 30-share BSE Sensex lost 455.59 points, or 0.58 percent, to end at 78,499.17. The 50-share NSE Nifty fell 65.35 points, or 0.27 percent, to close at 24,570.65.
The Nifty50 index’s biggest losers were Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, and Trent, while the top gainers were Hindalco, Grasim, TCS, M&M, and SBI.
In the broader market, the Nifty MidCap increased 0.22 percent, while the Nifty SmallCap dipped 0.05 percent.
Sector-wise, the Nifty Financial Services and Nifty Private Bank fell the most, while the Nifty Auto and Nifty IT increased the most.
