The weather system over the Bay of Bengal is once again active, with the likelihood of a new low-pressure region forming over the next 24 hours.
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the cyclonic circulation that was over Myanmar and surrounding areas yesterday has moved. As of today, the cyclonic circulation is over the north Bay of Bengal and the adjacent coastal areas of West Bengal and Bangladesh. The system extends up to 5.8 kilometers above mean sea level in the atmosphere. Under its influence, a low-pressure area is expected to emerge over the same area within the following 24 hours.
Odisha is projected to witness more rainfall activity in the coming days as a low pressure system forms.
The Met Department has advised fishermen and residents in low-lying areas to remain alert.
The regional weather department is actively monitoring the situation and is expected to issue additional warnings about rainfall distribution, wind speed, and sea conditions.
