Stock Market Highlights on Tuesday, Sept 1, 2026: The benchmark indices continued their losses into the second session, as bank, auto, real estate, and healthcare sectors fell amid increasing US-Iran tensions.
The Sensex declined 12.99 points, or 0.02 percent, to 76,944.28, while the Nifty50 dropped 24.60 points, or 0.1%, to 24,055.80.
The Nifty50 index’s top losers included Shriram Finance, Maruti Suzuki India, and InterGlobe Aviation.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap fell 1.39 percent and 0.23 percent, respectively.
Sector-wise, Nifty Healthcare, Nifty Auto, Nifty Realty, and Nifty Pharma underperformed. Meanwhile, Nifty FMCG and Nifty IT outperformed.
