Stock Market Highlights on Friday, Sept 4, 2026: The benchmark indices ended a four-day losing trend as global shares gained and emerging-market currencies rallied against the US dollar amid fading fears of a rate hike in the US.
The Sensex jumped 362.57 points, or 0.48 percent, to 76,515.43, while the Nifty50 gained 24.25 points, or 0.10 percent, to 23,897.70.
The top losers in the Nifty50 index were HCL Tech, Bharti Airtel, and Maruti Suzuki India.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap lost 0.25 percent and the Nifty SmallCap increased 0.22 percent.
Sector-wise, the Nifty Metal increased more than 1% and outperformed the other sectoral indices, while the Nifty Realty fell most.
