The Odisha Chief Electoral Officer’s office launched a three-day statewide special campaign on Wednesday to ensure the inclusion of eligible voters who were left off the electoral roll during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026, as well as the enrollment of newly eligible young voters.
The promotion will run until October 9, according to an official announcement.
Citizens whose names were removed from the electoral roll during the SIR process while being eligible to vote should contact their respective Booth Level Officer (BLO) to learn about the necessary procedure, forms, and papers. Their applications will be reviewed and validated in accordance with the election regulations before being included on the roll.
The drive also targets young men and women who attained the age of 18 years by October 1, 2026, subject to fulfilment of other eligibility conditions. They can apply for enrolment through Form-6 with their respective BLOs.
As part of the campaign, BLOs are conducting door-to-door visits to identify eligible persons who may have been left out and assist them with the enrolment process. The data collected during the exercise is being verified at the district level by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) and BLOs.
According to the CEO’s office, Booth Level Agents from political parties are also involved in the campaign, assisting with booth-level electoral roll processes and raising awareness about enrollment.
The administration has asked eligible residents to check their names on the electoral roll and contact their BLOs if their names are missing or if they qualify for new enrollment.
According to officials, the campaign’s goal is to ensure that no eligible voter is left off the electoral roster and that the roll is accurate, up to date, and inclusive.
