CTET August 2023: Over 29 lakh candidates registered, nearly 80% appeared for exam

CTET August 2023: On August 20, CBSE held the 17th edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET). A total of 29,03,903 candidates registered for the exam, with 15,01,719 registering for paper 1 and 14,02,184 registering for paper 2. CTET was administered at 3121 test centers located in 136 cities across the country.

Approximately 80% of candidates took the exam.

For the convenience of candidates, the board has made arrangements to offer digital marksheets and eligibility certificates via DigiLocker. All candidates who took the exam will be assigned a DigiLocker account. The account credentials will be provided to the candidates’ registered mobile numbers.

For security reasons, the candidate’s mark sheet and certificate will include an encrypted QR code that can be scanned and validated using the DigiLocker smartphone application.

Candidates might take either of the two papers or both, and they could choose any two languages from the list of twenty. Paper 1 assesses candidates’ eligibility for Classes 1–5, whereas Paper 2 assesses candidates’ eligibility for Classes 6–8.
