Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, today announced a three-year partnership with the Ministries of Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and Meta.
As part of the collaboration, Meta and NIESBUD, AICTE, and CBSE exchanged three letters of intent (LoI). The signing ceremony was attended by Annpurna Devi, the minister of state for education, and Rajeev Chandrasekhar, the minister of state for electronics and information technology, skill development, and entrepreneurship.
Pradhan stated that the project announced today is in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aim of creating India the world’s skill capital and empowering “Amrit Peedhi.”
Saying that the ‘Education to Entrepreneurship’ partnership is a gamechanger, the minister also said that it will take digital skilling to the grassroots. This, he added, will build capacities of talent pool, seamlessly connect students, youth, workforce and micro-entrepreneurs, with futuristic technologies and transform Amrit Peedhi into new-age problem solvers and entrepreneurs.
He claimed that India’s democracy, demography, and diversity must be linked with technology conversion in order for technology to become the equalizer for the entire society. META’s collaborations with NIESBUD, CBSE, and AICTE, guided by the concepts of NEP, will catalyze endless opportunities for training our population with crucial digital skills and enabling micro entrepreneurs and small companies, he noted.
Meta president, Global Affairs, Sir Nick Clegg in a video message said: “India’s talent base and rapid digital adoption make it the perfect place for us to invest in emerging technologies.”
He was looking forward to Meta’s contribution to empowering India’s students, young people, and entrepreneurs, with a particular emphasis on skill development for Indian startups and businesses, having worked closely with India during its G20 Presidency on issues such as education, job creation, skill development, and user safety.
