The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 saw an exciting contest between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in match 7. Gujarat Titans won the toss and chose to bowl first, asking Chennai Super Kings to establish the pace. Shivam Dube continued the onslaught with a breathtaking innings of 51 runs off 23 balls, supported by contributions from Ajinkya Rahane, Daryl Mitchell, and Sameer Rizvi. The Super Kings posted a formidable total of 206/6 in their allotted 20 overs.
CSK bowlers deliver commendable performance
Gujarat Titans had to take on the difficult challenge of chasing down the goal that the Chennai Super Kings had set. Nevertheless, they buckled under the weight of frequent wicket losses. With their contributions, Wriddhiman Saha, Sai Sudharsan, and David Miller attempted to steady the innings, but the needed run rate continued to rise. Gujarat Titans only managed to score 143/8 in their 20 overs, despite some resistance.
The bowlers for the Super Kings were excellent; Mustafizur Rahman, Tushar Deshpande, and Deepak Chahar all took significant wickets. Daryl Mitchell and Ravindra Jadeja both made significant contributions with the ball. The Super Kings ultimately prevailed, winning by a commanding 63 runs. Their dominant performance with both bat and ball secured them a well-deserved triumph, maintaining their strong position in the Indian Premier League 2024.
Chasing the victory target of 207 runs in 120 balls, Gujarat Titans were able to make 143 runs losing eight wickets. Of total, Sai Sudarsan made 37 runs, while David Miller and Wriddhiman Saha both hit 21 runs each. From CSK’s side, Tushar Despande, Deepak Chahr and Mustafizur Rahman all took two wickets each. By the end of the match, CSK won against the GT by 63 runs.
It is worth mentioning here that so far Chennai Super Kings have played two matches in the tournament and won both the matches. Today, Sunrisers Hyderabad is all set to lock horns with Mumbai Indians at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad at 7.30 pm.
