In today’s fast-paced world, maintaining a healthy lifestyle is more vital than ever, but did you know that vitamin C is an essential ingredient that supports our immune system and overall health? It not only helps our systems fight off infections, but it also promotes collagen synthesis, healthy skin, and serves as a potent antioxidant.

According to Dr Deepika Krishna, Nutrition and Strategic Health Coach and Managing Director of Immunosciences Supplements, revealed five delectable foods that will help you enhance your regular consumption of vitamin C:

Dhai vs chaas: Which one is better for your gut health?

1. Guava: This tropical fruit contains more Vitamin C than an orange. Just one guava has more than double the necessary daily amount of Vitamin C. Guava is a delightful and nutritious method to increase your Vitamin C intake, whether you eat it alone, in a smoothie, or in a fruit salad.

2. Papaya: Papaya is another vitamin C-rich tropical fruit. One cup of papaya contains more vitamin C than the daily recommended amount. Enjoy it on its own or mix it into smoothies, salads, or salsas for a refreshing and nutrient-dense boost.

3. Pineapple: Sweet, juicy, and bursting with Vitamin C, pineapple is another excellent choice for increasing your intake of this essential nutrient. Enjoy it fresh, grilled, or blended into a tropical smoothie for a refreshing and nutritious treat.

4. Broccoli: This nutrient-packed vegetable is not only high in fiber and antioxidants but also an excellent source of vitamin C. Whether steamed, roasted, or added to a stir-fry, broccoli is a delicious and nutritious way to boost your immune system.

Dr Deepika Krishna said, “Incorporating these foods into your diet can help ensure that you are getting enough vitamin C to support a healthy immune system and overall well-being. Whether you enjoy them on your own or incorporate them into your favourite recipes, these delicious foods are sure to keep you feeling great all year round.”

Again, if you want to increase your intake of this essential mineral, Dr. suggested some delightful items to add –

  1. Citrus Fruits: When life gives you lemons (oranges, grapefruits, or limes), make sure to include them in your diet. Citrus fruits are well-known for their high vitamin C content, making them an excellent choice for getting your daily dose of this immune-boosting mineral. Citrus fruits add a zesty flavor to every meal, whether eaten fresh as a snack or cooked into salads and marinades.
  2. Bell peppers: They not only provide color and flavor to your food, but they also contain a high level of vitamin C. Whether you prefer the sweet flavor of red, yellow, or green peppers, incorporating these versatile vegetables into your meals is a surefire way to boost your daily vitamin C intake.
  3. Kiwi: Kiwi fruits, which originated in New Zealand, are not only delicious but also very nutritious. With more vitamin C per serving than an orange, these fuzzy fruits are a tropical delicacy that can be eaten alone or combined into fruit salads for a refreshing burst of flavor.
  4. Strawberries: Strawberries are a summertime favorite that can be eaten year-round due to their sweetness and vitamin C content. These juicy berries, whether blended into smoothies, added to salads, or enjoyed on their own, are an excellent method to enhance your immune system while pleasing your sweet tooth.

Nutritionist determined that including all of these foods in your diet is an easy and enjoyable way to increase your daily vitamin C intake while also enhancing your overall health and well-being. So, the next time you go grocery shopping, make sure to stock up on these immune-boosting essential foods and reap the advantages for your taste buds—and your health!
