Neeraj Chopra, India’s javelin star, won the Paris Diamond League title with his first throw of 88.16 meters. Neeraj led the event from the start, despite having three “no marks” in the middle. While there was no 90m throw in Paris, Neeraj defeated Germany’s Julian Weber, who had beaten him at the Doha Diamond League event in May and the Janusz Kusocinski Memorial event.
Webesr’s best throw of the night was a 87.88m effort.
Neeraj registered a “no mark” on his third, fourth and fifth throws. His final throw was a 82.69 metre heave.

In Doha, Neeraj had finally breached the 90m mark but Weber had upstaged the Indian’s 90.23m throw with 91.06m with his last throw and claimed the top spot on the podium.
