The National Testing Agency (NTA) has extended the deadline for NEET UG 2026 candidates to submit bank account information for examination fee reimbursements. The government declared in a public notification that the facility, which was originally scheduled to close on May 27th, will remain operational until June 22, 2026, at 11:50 p.m. The fee refund process is tied to larger issues surrounding the NEET UG 2026 examination on May 3.
The NTA earlier issued public notices on May 12, 2026 and May 22, 2026 about the return of examination costs for NEET UG 2026 applicants. In continuation of those notices, NTA had activated a dedicated facility on the NEET 2026 registration portal between May 22 and May 27, allowing candidates to submit their preferred bank account details for the refund to be processed directly into their accounts.
Despite the initial window being open for nearly a week, the NTA disclosed in its notice that approximately 13 lakh candidates have already changed their bank account information. This still remains a significant number of qualified individuals who have not completed the process. Recognizing this gap, the agency has chosen to extend the submission window by nearly a month, allowing remaining candidates to log in and finish the procedure.
NEET UG: How to submit bank account details?
Candidates can access the refund submission facility by going onto the NEET 2026 registration portal with their existing credentials and selecting the refund link. They can also upload a cancelled check to verify the authenticity of their bank account details. The official notice’s Annexure I includes step-by-step login instructions.
Importantly, NTA has said that once bank account information is entered, it will be viewed as final and no further changes would be accepted. Candidates are asked to double-check all details before submitting.
The facility to enter bank account information will be available on the NEET UG 2026 registration portal until June 22, 2026, at 11:50 p.m. Candidates who have yet to submit their information should not wait until the last minute, since the portal may suffer high traffic around the deadline. The NTA has asked all qualified applicants to finish the process as soon as possible in order to receive their proper refund.
