Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik launched a series of health infrastructure projects worth Rs 1140 crore via video conference on Thursday in an effort to improve healthcare services across Odisha.
The Chief Minister unveiled 103 finished projects worth Rs 140 crore while also laying the groundwork for 372 planned projects worth Rs 1000 crore dispersed across the state.
Chief Minister Patnaik emphasized the transformative influence of the 5T projects in improving government hospital services throughout his speech. He credited these activities for establishing stronger trust in the government’s healthcare system, emphasizing the increased trust in the government’s healthcare system.
Patnaik also praised the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) for its role in providing people with free and enhanced healthcare services, with over 1 lakh beneficiaries each month. He emphasized the government’s continuing commitment to providing high-quality healthcare.
The Chief Minister emphasized the importance of freshly announced projects in expanding health infrastructure, expressing expectations for Odisha to set a benchmark in healthcare. The ultimate goal is to create a ‘Sustha Odisha Sukhi Odisha’ (Healthy Odisha, Happy Odisha).
Patnaik underscored the commitment to improve primary health, community health, and district health services statewide, citing a significant investment of Rs 12,000 crores in health infrastructure development over the last five years.
During the event, the Chief Minister launched a dedicated helpline, 1800 120 120 104, under the BSKY, for Odia residents living outside the state.
Present at the program, Health Minister Niranjan Pujari praised the great strides made in the healthcare sector over the last two decades under the Chief Minister’s leadership and direction. VK Pandian, Chairman of 5T and Nabin Odisha, moderated the event.
Health Secretary Shalini Pandit, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, and Principal Secretaries and Secretaries from several departments attended the occasion.
