Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi presented the budget for fiscal year 2025-26 in the Legislative Assembly, taking a significant step toward the State’s long-term goal, Viksit Odisha @ 2036. The budget promises to alter Odisha’s urban landscape through the Samriddhi City Scheme, with an allocation of ₹408 crore to develop future-ready cities.
The project aims to promote economic growth, smart urbanization, and sustainable development while providing a good standard of living for urban residents. In this ambitious plan, the government will concentrate on:

The ₹408 crore investment would be judiciously distributed across cities to promote balanced and equitable growth. The government plans to complete project parameters, such as timetables and recipient cities, in the coming months.
The Samriddhi City Scheme is Odisha’s major urban development effort, concentrating on economic revitalization, infrastructure improvement, smart governance, and climate resilience. With a people-first approach, the program seeks to construct modern, inclusive, and sustainable metropolitan centers, laying the way for Odisha’s transformation into a successful and future-ready state.
