According to the weather office, the heat will be manageable for the general population, but it may pose a health risk for those who are vulnerable, such as infants, the elderly, and the sick.  According to the IMD’s recommendation, residents should not leave their houses during the day, stay hydrated, and avoid exposure to heat.

By 11:30 a.m. today, numerous sections of Odisha had experienced excessive heat and humidity. Jharsuguda had the highest maximum temperature of 43.4°C, followed by Sambalpur (42.4°C) and Bhubaneswar (41.6°C). Paradip, on the other hand, had the maximum humidity (90%) around 11:30 a.m. on Friday, while Bhubaneswar had a humidity level of 38%.

The temperature is expected to continue high until the 18th of June, as the monsoon is expected to arrive in Odisha in three days.

The heat wave is predicted to last a few more days. The daytime temperature is expected to drop by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius, according to the regional weather center.

According to the most recent reports, a heatwave warning has been issued for several districts in Odisha.

People have been urged not to leave their homes between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

They have been instructed to take the required safeguards if leaving the house within the time frame is inevitable.
