The Orissa High Court will be on summer vacation beginning May 25. Since Saturday and Sunday are already non-working days, Friday (May 23) will be the final working day before the vacation, according to an official announcement issued by the Court.
The High Court will reopen on June 22, 2026.During the summer recess, the High Court has scheduled eight days of vacation benches to resolve urgent matters. All vacation courts will operate in virtual form. The vacation benches will hear cases from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
According to the notification, a Division Bench of Justice KR Mohapatra and Justice MS Sahu would hear cases on May 26 and 29. Additionally, separate benches of these two judges will be functional.
On June 2 and 5, a Division Bench of Justices MS Sahu and MS Raman would sit alongside their respective single benches.
On June 9, a Division Bench consisting of Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra and Justice V. Narasingha will meet. The single benches of Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra, Justice V. Narasingha, Justice Biraja Prasanna Satapathy, and Justice Gouri Shankar Satapathy will also be in operation.
On June 12, 17, and 19, a Division Bench consisting of Justice Sabitri Rath and Justice V Narasingh will hear cases. Justice Sabitri Rath, Justice Aditya Kumar Mohapatra, Justice V Narasingha, and Justice Biraja Prasanna Satapathy will all sit on separate benches.
This plan was designed to ensure that essential problems do not be delayed during the summer vacation period.
