President Droupadi Murmu came in Odisha on Monday for a three-day official visit, during which she will attend a number of events in Kataka and Ganjam districts.
The President arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport in Bhubaneswar in the afternoon and was greeted by Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and other dignitaries.
Following her arrival, the President visited Raj Bhavan before departing for Kataka later in the day to inaugurate Jagadguru Kripalu University.
On Tuesday, the President will travel by train from Bhubaneswar to Brahmapur. She would next go by road to Taptapani hot spring in Ganjam district’s Sanakhemundi block to offer darshan and aarti at the Maa Kandhuni Devi and Shiva temples.
The President will spend the night at the Army AD College at Golabandha, Ganjam, before wrapping up her visit to Odisha. She is due to return to New Delhi on August 5.
