Stock Market Highlights on Wednesday, July 15, 2026: The benchmark market indices Sensex and Nifty 50 finished Wednesday’s volatile session on a high note, with buying in banking and financial services firms. The BSE Sensex increased 130.49 points, or 0.17 percent, to 77,185.43, while the NSE Nifty 50 closed 26.45 points, or 0.11 percent higher, at 24,074.85.
Broader markets outpaced the benchmark, with the Nifty Midcap 100 up almost 0.28 percent and the Nifty Smallcap 100 up around 0.7%.
Sector-wise, the Nifty PSU Bank index increased by about 1%, while the Nifty Metal index fell by over 1%. The IT, Realty, and FMCG indexes continued to fall, while Pharma closed higher for the second time in a row and Oil & Gas recovered after two days of losses.
