Stock Market Highlights on Wednesday, Sept 2, 2026: The benchmark indices continued their losses into the third day, as rising oil prices fueled concerns about the inflation outlook, while rising bond yields dampened investors’ risk appetite.
The Sensex slid 373.93 points, or 0.49 percent, to 76,570.35, while the Nifty50 dropped 141.35 points, or 0.59 percent, to 23,914.45.
Eicher Motors, Wipro India, and Bajaj Auto were the biggest losers in the Nifty50 index.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap fell 0.53% and 0.37%, respectively.
Nifty Auto fell 2%, becoming the worst-hit sectoral indices. Nifty IT and Media both underperformed. Meanwhile, Nifty Oil & Gas, PSU Bank, and Realty performed well.
