Stock Market Highlights on Tuesday, July 22, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex extended their losses into the third session as real estate and PSU bank equities weighed. Furthermore, increasing oil prices caused by West Asian tensions dampened risk sentiment.
The Sensex slid 715.06 percent, or 0.92 percent, to 76,755.05, while the Nifty50 dropped 191.45 points, or 0.79 percent, to 23,996.25.
The top losers in the Nifty50 index included InterGlobe Aviation, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, and Jio Financial Services.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap fell 1.09 percent and 1.54 percent, respectively.
Sector-wise, the Nifty PSU Bank and Nifty Realty fell the highest. Meanwhile, the Nifty FMCG and Nifty Auto rallied the most.
