Stock Market Highlights on Tuesday, Aug 25, 2026: The benchmark indices recovered losses to close higher, after gains in healthcare, pharmaceuticals, and PSU bank equities.
The Sensex jumped 286.98 points, or 0.37 percent, to 77,656.09, while the Nifty50 gained 115.50 points, or 0.48 percent, to 24,334.55.
The top gainers on the Nifty50 index were Adani Enterprises, Max Healthcare Institute, and Apollo Hospitals Enterprise.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap rose 0.54%, while the Nifty SmallCap dipped 0.1%.
Sector-wise, the Nifty Healthcare, Nifty Pharma, and Nifty PSU Bank did well, while the Nifty Private Bank and Nifty Metal underperformed.
