Share Market Close: Sensex gains 43 pts; Nifty ends at 24,584; PSU Bank index drops nearly 2%

Stock Market Highlights on Monday, Aug 10, 2026: After trading in a small range throughout the session, the Sensex and Nifty 50 eked out marginal gains as uncertainty about a deal to open the Strait of Hormuz loomed large. A spike in oil prices also kept upside capped.

 The BSE Sensex rose 43.27 points or 0.06 per cent to end at 78,542.44. Meanwhile, the Nifty50 settled 13.15 points or 0.05 per cent higher at 24,583.80.

 Titan, Tata Consumer and Bajaj Finance were the top Nifty 50 gainers. On the other hand, State Bank of India, ITC, and Eternal were the top laggards.

 Sector-wise, the Nifty PSU Bank declined nearly 2 per cent and emerged as the worst performer. Nifty Pharma and the Nifty FMCG also underperformed. Meanwhile, the Nifty Realty outperformed with a 1.35 per cent rise.
