Stock Market Highlights on Thursday, July 31, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex closed higher for the third consecutive day, with auto and financial services firms rising.
The Sensex jumped 166.49 points, or 0.21 percent, to 78,094.64, while the Nifty50 gained 66.45 points, or 0.27 percent, to 24,383.60.
The biggest gainers on the Nifty50 index were Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, and Jio Financial Services.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap both closed 0.44 percent higher.
Sector-wise, the Nifty IT and Nifty FMCG underperformed, whilst the Nifty Auto and Nifty Financial Services performed well. The Nifty IT index ended a five-day winning streak amid a rally in global semiconductor companies.
