Indian astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla has been launched to the International Space Station as part of the Axiom 4 mission aboard the SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, which is powered by the company’s Falcon 9 rocket. On June 25, at 12:01 p.m., the Indian astronaut launched from Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. The spacecraft is now in route to the International Space Station and has completed a series of maneuvers to dock with the ISS’ Harmony module.

According to NASA, the Dragon spacecraft from the Axiom 4 mission will dock with the International Space Station’s Harmony module on June 26 at 7 a.m. EDT (4:30 p.m. IST).
The arrival will be covered live on Axiom Space, NASA+, and SpaceX channels starting at 5 a.m. EDT (2:30 p.m. IST). The Ax-4 livestream will show the crew docking with the space station and being welcomed by NASA’s Expedition 73 Crew in a special ceremony.
Once they arrive at the International Space Station, the private astronauts will spend around two weeks conducting scientific research, outreach activities, and commercial tasks.
Peggy Whitson, a former NASA astronaut and Axiom Space’s head of human spaceflight, will lead this commercial mission. She is joined by ISRO (Indian Space Research Organisation) astronaut Shubhanshu Shukla, who is the pilot. The team includes two mission specialists: Sławosz Uznański-Wiśniewski from the European Space Agency (ESA) in Poland and Tibor Kapu from Hungary, representing HUNOR (Hungarian to Orbit).
