The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the main exam dates for the Indian Forest Service (IFS) exam. The examination will begin on November 24 and conclude on December 1. Candidates can get the UPSC IFS Mains schedule from the official website, upsc.gov.in.
The preliminary exam was held in one day on June 16. On July 1, the commission announced the UPSC IFS preliminary results for 2024.

The written exam results for the 2023 batch, together with the names of the shortlisted candidates, were revealed on July 19. Asodiya Parth Sureshkumar won first position, followed by Shreya Thakur in second and Mendapara Nikunjkumar Prafulbha in third.
The service is concerned with the management of the country’s forests, wildlife, and environment. The IFS exam schedule is highly tough, with three major stages: preliminary examination, main examination, and personality test (interview). The preliminary examination is the first stage of the selection process and is similar to the civil services examination (CSE). It is comprised of two objective-type papers.
Both exams carry 200 points, and Paper I’s grades are used to determine merit in the Prelims. However, Paper II is a qualifying exam. Candidates who pass the preliminary exam continue on to the mains examination. The mains examination is descriptive in nature, testing applicants on a variety of specialist topics. It consists of six papers.
