The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has announced the Combined Defence Services (CDS 2) Exam Results 2025. Candidates can examine their results at the official websites, upsc.gov.in and upsconline.nic.in. The UPSC CDS II merit list is also available via these portals. A total of 9,085 individuals passed the written test for the CDS 2 exams and moved to the interview stage.
The UPSC CDS 2 exam was set for September 14, 2025, with three shifts: 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and 4 p.m. to 6 pm. The Union Public Service Commission aims to fill a total of 453 vacancies through this recruitment drive. Interested candidates were able to submit their applications until June 20, 2025.
UPSC CDS II 2025: Steps to check
Step 1: Go to the official UPSC website at upsc.gov.in.
Step 2: Click on the “Result: Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2025” link on the homepage.
Step 3: Download the PDF of UPSC CDS Result 2025 that opens in a new tab.
Step 4: Look for your roll number in the PDF and save it for future reference.
The marksheets will be accessible on the official website for 30 days. Importantly, candidates who have cleared the UPSC CDS 2 written examination and selected the Army as their first preference are required to register on the Directorate General of Recruiting’s portal at — joinindianarmy.nic.in.
These candidates should expect to be called for interviews with the Short Service Commission (SSC) soon. The UPSC CDS 2 test is used to recruit officers for India’s Armed Forces, which include the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Candidates should keep in mind that there will be a penalty for incorrect responses in the Objective Type Question Papers, as negative marking is used. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will prepare a list of candidates who achieve the minimum qualifying marks in the written test, as determined at its discretion.
Those selected for training are paid a monthly stipend of Rs 56,100. Following satisfactory completion and commissioning as a Lieutenant, the basic monthly salary remains Rs 56,100. In addition to the base wage, the whole compensation package comprises Military Service Pay, Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transportation Allowance, and Special Allowance.
Candidates who pass the UPSC CDS 2 exam are admitted to a variety of distinguished institutes throughout the Indian Armed Forces. These include the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, Kerala, the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad for the Pre-Flying Training Course, and the Officers Training Academy in Chennai (Madras) for the 124th Short Service Commission (SSC) (Men) (Non-Technical) Course and the 124th SSC (Women) (Non-Technical) Course. These academies offer specialised training for officer positions in the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
