Stock Market Highlights on Thursday, May 14, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex closed significantly higher, driven by advances in pharmaceutical, healthcare, and metal companies.
The Nifty50 closed 277.00 points, or 1.18 percent, higher at 23,689.60, while the Sensex advanced 789.74 points, or 1.06 percent, to 75,398.72.
Adani Enterprises, Cipla, and Bharti Airtel were the top gainers on the Nifty50 index.
The Nifty MidCap was up 1.12%, while the Nifty SmallCap was down 0.01%.
Sector-wise, the Nifty Pharma, Nifty Healthcare, and Nifty Metal advanced the most. Meanwhile, the Nifty IT index fell the most.
Investors were watching what happened during the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping. According to Bloomberg, Xi stated that the talks with his US counterpart will help him sketch out a vision for stable relations with the US.
