Share Market Close Highlights: Sensex surges 1,695 pts, Nifty ends at 23,623 on hopes for US-Iran peace deal

Stock Market Highlights on Friday, June 12, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex rose on prospects of a US-Iran truce after US President Donald Trump stated that Washington has struck a terrific resolution with Iran and that just the document needs to be finalized.

The Nifty50 increased 461.30 points, or 1.99%, to 23,622.90, while the Sensex finished 1,695.4 points, or 2.3%, higher at 75,527.95.

Meanwhile, Bloomberg reported that Washington and Tehran are close to reaching a peace agreement during the G7 meeting week. If ratified, the pact will reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a vital energy supply canal.

Shriram Finance, Bajaj Finance, and Larsen & Toubro were the top gainers on the Nifty50 index

In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap finished 2.43 percent and 2.8% higher, respectively.

The Nifty Realty and Nifty Financial Services sectors outperformed their rivals, rising by more than 3% each. The Nifty IT underperformed.
