A low-pressure system has formed over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and surrounding areas as a result of upper air cyclonic circulation over the North Bay of Bengal off the shores of West Bengal and Bangladesh. According to the IMD, the system began at 5:30 a.m. today (August 23).
Squally weather with wind speeds of 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is expected to continue across the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal, as well as along and off the shores of West Bengal, Odisha, and North Andhra Pradesh, till August 24.
Until August 24, sea conditions are expected to be severe to very rough in the northwest and bordering west-central Bay of Bengal, as well as along and off the shores of West Bengal, Odisha, and North Andhra Pradesh.
Fishermen are warned not to venture into the Northwest and bordering west-central Bay of Bengal, as well as along and off the shores of West Bengal, Odisha, and North Andhra Pradesh till August 24.
