The Odisha Higher Education Department has announced a detailed schedule for e-admission into undergraduate programs via the Student Academic Management System (SAMS) for the academic year 2026-27. The online Common Application Form (CAF) submission process for admission to all (+3) degree higher education institutions (HEIs), including self-financed colleges and Sanskrit (Shastri) institutions, will commence on May 27 at 4 p.m. The official website for applying is samsodisha.gov.in.
According to the official statement, qualified students can apply online through the SAMS Odisha portal until June 10 at 11:45 p.m. The department has recommended candidates to thoroughly read the Common Prospectus before completing the application form. It further said that applicants may edit their CAF up until the deadline for submission.
The first round tentative seat allotment list will be released on June 17 at 2 p.m. Students chosen in the first round must select the slide, freeze, or float option and pay the entry fees online via their SAMS student account between June 17 and June 20.
Candidates assigned seats in the first round must report to their respective institutions for admission between June 18 and June 20. Colleges shall update admission data in the e-space site by June 20 at 9 p.m.
The second and final round tentative allotment list is set to be revealed on June 29 at 2 p.m. Selected students will be able to pay admissions costs online between June 29 and July 4. Reporting at designated universities for the second round admission process will take place from June 30 to July 4.
The Higher Education Department has also announced a waiting or spot selection phase for students seeking admission to the remaining open seats. Students who wish to participate in the waiting list phase must register using their student login between July 8 and July 10.
The merit-based waiting list will be published on July 14, and universities will present the lists of selected and waitlisted candidates on July 15. Selected applicants in the waiting round must complete admission processes by July 17.
As per the schedule, first-year degree programs at Odisha’s colleges would begin on July 9, 2026. The agency further noted that the Phase-II admission procedure will begin following the release of CHSE immediate or supplemental examination results.
