Stock Market Highlights on Wednesday, May 13, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex concluded the tumultuous session with slight gains, boosted by metal, oil, and gas sectors.
The Nifty50 ended 33.05 points, or 0.14 percent, higher at 23,412.60, while the Sensex closed 49.74 points, or 0.07 percent, higher at 74,608.98.
Asian Paints, Adani Enterprises, and Tata Steel were the top gainers on the Nifty50 index.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap indices closed 0.77 percent and 0.31 percent higher, respectively.
The Nifty IT, Nifty Auto, Nifty Bank, and Nifty Media sectors all had the greatest fall. The Nifty Metal, Nifty Oil and Gas, and Nifty Consumer Durable rallied the highest.
Externally, investors are looking forward to the meeting between US President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping, which is slated for later today and will discuss trade.
They also examined Washington’s severe posture toward Iran following Trump’s tenuous ceasefire comment to gain a better understanding of geopolitical tensions in West Asia.
