Stock Market Highlights on Tuesday, June 9, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex climbed on tail-end buying, with PSU bank, financial, and auto companies giving support. Risk mood increased after US President Donald Trump stated that peace talks with Iran are underway after Tehran and Israel halted exchanging strikes.
The Nifty50 closed 119.10 points, or 0.52%, higher at 23,242.10, while the Sensex advanced 0.54%, or 394.50 points, to 73,918.76.
The Nifty50 index’s top gainers included InterGlobe Aviation, Jio Financial Services, and Eicher Motors.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap closed 1.35 percent and 1.69 percent higher, respectively.
Sector-wise, the Nifty PSU Bank excelled, gaining more than 3%. The Nifty Realty, the Nifty Auto, and the Nifty Financial Services indices also outperformed. The Nifty IT and the Nifty Media declined the most.
