Stock Market Highlights on Monday, May 18, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex recovered the majority of their initial losses as IT companies rallied, while traders watched the situation in West Asia.
The Nifty50 ended 6.45 points, or 0.03 percent, higher at 23,649.95, while the Sensex closed 77.05 points, or 0.10 percent, higher at 75,315.04.
The leading gainers on the Nifty50 index were Tech Mahindra, Infosys, and Bharti Airtel.
In the broader markets, the Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap ended 0.15 percent and 1.26 percent lower, respectively.
The Nifty IT climbed more than 2% to lead the advances among peers. The Nifty Pharma and Nifty Healthcare also performed well. Meanwhile, the Nifty Consumer Durables and Nifty PSU Bank indexes plummeted the most.
