Stock Market Highlights on Friday, June 19, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex fell sharply on Friday as IT shares fell on a disappointing sales and top-line outlook from its global peer Accenture.
The Nifty50 closed 155 points or 0.64 per cent lower at 24,013.10, and the Sensex slid 0.78 per cent or 608 points to 76,802.90.
The Nifty50 index’s top losers were Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, and Tech Mahindra.
In the broader market, the Nifty MidCap and Nifty SmallCap indices closed 0.22 percent and 0.42 percent higher, respectively.
IT was the worst-performing sector in the Nifty50. The Nifty Realty, Nifty Auto, and Nifty Oil & Gas all underperformed. The Nifty Pharma index increased the most.
Traders analyzed the results of Reliance Industries’ highly anticipated 49th annual general meeting. Chairman Mukesh Ambani revealed that the board had approved Jio Platforms’ draft red herring prospectus (DRHP), which was now being filed.
Akash Ambani, chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm, stated that Jio Platforms are developing artificial intelligence (AI) for India using native languages.
