The Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) has raised milk prices by Rs 4 per litre, effective today.
Toned milk will now be sold at Rs 54 per litre, up from Rs 50. Premium milk prices have risen to Rs 58 per liter, up from Rs 54. Gold Premium milk will be priced at Rs 60 per litre, up from Rs 56, and Gold Premium Plus milk at Rs 64 per litre, up from Rs 60.
Half-litre milk packets, which were previously priced at Rs 27, will now be available for Rs 29.The price adjustment comes after OMFED announced an increase in procurement prices for milk producers. Beginning May 1, 2026, dairy producers would receive Rs 39.05 per litre, up from Rs 38.05. The measure is expected to directly help over three lakh dairy farmers in the cooperative.
OMFED officials stated that the increase in both procurement and retail prices was caused by growing input costs, such as cattle feed, fodder, medicines, and other maintenance charges. Rising prices have also had an impact on the state’s overall milk production.
