Stock Market Close Highlights, May 29, 2026: The Nifty50 and Sensex finished substantially lower on Friday, pulled down by uncertainties surrounding the US-Iran pact.
The Sensex dropped 1,092.06 points, or 1.44 percent, to close at 74,775.74, while the Nifty50 slid 359.4 points, or 1.5 percent, to 23,547.75.
The broader market also suffered, with the Nifty MidCap 100 dropping 1.33 percent and the Nifty SmallCap 100 plummeting 0.85 percent.
Power Grid, IndiGo, Bajaj Finance, and UltraTech Cement were among the Sensex’s worst losers, while Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies, and L&T defied the trend and closed in the green.
The top laggards in the sector were Nifty Metal and Nifty Oil & Gas, both down more than 2%.
